Steffi Boom and Esther van Vliet (Dentsu Creative) win Golden Saw
On December 4th, YoungDogs hosted their biggest event of the year, Portfolio Night - a night designed to let young creatives show off their portfolios to some of the top creative directors in the industry, prove to them why they are the next big thing, or simply seek advice and guidance from those who’ve gone before them.
Dentsu Creative hosted the event at their HQ, creating a comfortable space that allowed for the perfect mix of feedback, inspiration, and petworking (an annual pun we like to include, sorry). With 18 of our partner agencies sending over 50 creative directors, as well as over 70 young creatives attending the event itself, the evening was a resounding success.
Ten rounds of speed dating gave each young creative 10 minutes to showcase their portfolio to a creative director before moving on to the next. A mixing pot of ideas, energy, nerves and inspiration.
The Golden Saw
The night’s highlight is as always the iconic Golden Saw Award, given to the most outstanding portfolio of the event. It wasn’t an easy choice for Peter van Woensel Kooy, senior editor at Marketing Tribune, and Lode Schaeffer, Founder and Executive Creative Director at INDIE Amsterdam, who selected the brilliant Steffi Boom and Esther van Vliet as their winners. Both Steffi and Esther work as a creative duo at Denstu Creative and are no stranger to the YoungDogs having both just won our last pitch with KPN and secured their spot in Cannes this June.
For YoungDogs, Portfolio Night remains one of our favourite events of the year. Supporting young talent and giving them a platform to show off what makes them great is central to our mission.
